Subject: [Modeling] UML status
Dear Modeling TC enthusiasts,
Just a quick update on the status of UML 2.0.
Currently, UML 2.0 is up for an OMG-adoption vote on 28 March 2003. Of
course, I expect that there will be a ³yes² vote. The only inhibitor might
be that there have several small last-minute changes to the spec. Most of
the submitters maintain that these changes were mostly super-minor ³bug
fixes² in nature. However, there could be a debate that a few of them are
slightly more than that. If this occurs, there is a procedural technicality
that requires that the vote is delay until 3 June. In short, the spec
content is not the problem, it is the approval date. Will keep you updated
after the 28 March meeting.
In the meantime the UML 2.0 specs -- with errata -- can be downloaded from:
http://www.jamesodell.com/auml-docs/U2P-UML-Infra-v2-PDF.zip
and
http://www.jamesodell.com/auml-docs/U2P-UML-Super-v2-PDF.zip
Thank you for your interest.
-Jim

Subject: Re: [Modeling] Feedback on Interaction Diagram specs
I like the idea of a set of diagrams describing the interaction being the
focus for the FIPA standard (instead of just sequence diagrams). In
particular I can see the timing diagrams playing a role on the description
of Temporal constraints of the system.

Subject: [Modeling] Metamodel framework for MAS
Dear Modeling TC participants,
Am forwarding some interesting papers that could be used to help specify the
AUML metamodel. In particular, they involve Core AUML metamodel notions for
agent class, roles, groups, and materials. These references are:
